Wandering Always

Andrea’s & Kim’s captures are our Top Pics of the Week! Pictured are 8 beautiful photographs taken at the Yosemite National Park.

Mirror Lake Living Up To It’s Name

We started our project “Wandering Always” to share our love for adventure, beautiful places, and also, our love of film photography. We shoot digital, too… but there’s something special about film. We hope that sharing these beautiful places and the cameras we use will inspire people to get outside and enjoy nature, and to maybe pick up a cool, old camera to take along.

They embarked on an exciting road trip to the Yosemite Falls where they camped out in the cold of winter to avoid the busyness at the park.

When we arrived, we were met with some raging waterfalls and it was stunning. California has been in a drought for quite some time, so seeing this amount of water is a beautiful site. The winter had lots of snow and rain, so the park was putting on quite a show with its various waterfalls and the Merced river. The beauty is hard to describe, so hopefully the photos will help us to remember this amazing place at that specific point in time. If readers want to see more photos from our trip (or other adventures), they can visit our blog at wanderingalways.com/ourblog and look for the Yosemite post!

They captured these photos in natural sunlight using a Yashica Mat 124G purchased from KEH Camera. Exposire was variable, but around 1/250th to 1/500th.

These photos were all taken on Kodak Ektar, and one of the perks of film photography is that it rarely requires much work after the development is done. These photos had minimal post-production, if any at all, just basic exposure and contrast adjustment, and maybe dust removal, in Lightroom.
