This week’s photo of the week goes to John Cothron from Gainesville, GA.
Every photographer needs to be able to take a good sunset photo. Take a few pointers from Cothron’s photo, titled “Holly Park Sunset.” Captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Corthon stopped at the park just off Highway 60 in Gainesville, GA and waited for the fishermen to leave before taking this brilliant shot.
Why We Love This Photo
Landscape photography gives us a sense of time and place and let’s us experience a location without actually being there. While we may not be able to explore the entire world in a lifetime, we’re able to experience a piece of it captured through the lens. This image captures the vibrant colors coating the landscape in a lavender hue and a slight vignette compliments the sunset’s orange-yellow glow, making it the image’s focal point.
If you haven’t gone out to see a sunset recently, maybe this is just the inspiration you need!
