Gear Review: Canon 6D Mark II

Canon 6D Mark II and Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II are two of amazing products. The 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II provides us with good image quality and does not disappoint. The build quality, image quality, IF system, and IS system are some of the amazing features of this lens. The 6D Mark II is an affordable full frame camera, but the build quality and the image quality of this camera feel far from low-end.

As we know, the 6D Mark II is a full frame camera without the price tag of the 5D series.  This lower-end full frame camera is a workhorse! Maybe not a first choice for a professional photographers, but I would say that is a great backup camera. Equipped with a 26.2-megapixel sensor, it produces good image quality. The touch screen, weather resistant, size, and weight are additional great qualities. If there’s a bit of drizzle the camera is weather resistant, so you don’t have to worry. The size and weight feel very comfortable in hand. The light weight is nice especially when adding a heavier lens like the Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II.

Let’s talk a bit about the Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II lens. Version 1 of this lens set the bar high and version 2 does not disappoint at all. The first thing I noticed about this lens is that the build is excellent! The IF system is amazing as it focuses accurately fast. As we all know having a fast IF system is crucial for certain types of photography. The IS system is great as it helps when shooting at lower handheld shutter speed. in lower light conditions. Canon made improvements for version II and this lens is sharper than version 1 when wide open. 

I was able to take the 6D Mark II and 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II out for a nature photo walk. My personal experience with both products was great. Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II is a versatile lens that can be used for many types of photography. While the Canon 6D Mark II will not be my go-to camera, I will use it as a backup. There’s so much more that can be said about both the Canon 6D Mark II and the Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II. However, I do believe that the 6D Mark II and the Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS USM II are great tools to create amazing images.
